First time I took the SAT-- Math-740 CR-690 WR-720
Second time-- Math-800 CR-800 WR- 680
I can write a great essay. I build my own guitars and amps. Program my computers, calculators, etc. Taking all IB classes, always more than I need to to get the IB Diploma. Varsity Soccer at a school of 4000. Not taking an easy Senior year, although I could. Worked in a warehouse last summer, CPA firm this summer. Very traumatic experience in childhood that changed my life. Half Iranian. Live with a single parent (teacher)

BAD:
4.28 weighted GPA as of now, puts me in the 11th% of my class.
Was in Boy Scouts, but didn’t make Eagle because a change of administration didn’t recognize some merit I was promised.

What are my chances at a school like Stanford? Cal-Tech? Washington University St. Louis? Rice(both of my parents went there, and my grandfather was a professor there)? Harvey Mudd? Of course, Harvard? Schools like those…

I’ll chance you back with whatever knowledge I have.

If you interview/essay well, I would recommend University of Chicago or WU in St. Louis. If you could illustrate that traumatic experience’s effect on your life, this could serve as the base of an otherwise above average application. Congrats on Varsity Soccer… It’s tough ;).

Your SAT score is almost exactly like mine haha.

While you do have a fairly interesting past, what sort of ‘hook’ do you have?
By hook I mean anything interesting about yourself. Mine is a dual passion for art and science, try to find an ‘edge’ about yourself!

You should have an excellent shot at the ‘lower tier’ ivies. If you do get a ‘hook’ I wouldn’t be surprised if you got into one of the hipsums!

I agree with the posters above, I think you have a good chance at all of those and maybe some of the lower Ivies. Stanford, Cal-Tech, and Harvard may be hard to get into, but I would suggest you still apply to them. Those three are unpredictable, but you never know. Good luck!

You seem to have great grades and SAT’s, but what’s behind this?
Try to profile yourself, especially for schools like Stanford, who recjects even perfect SAT’s like you.

If you can show some passion, i don’t see a point why you wouldnt make it into a top school
