I was wondering if you guys could chance me for a few schools – CMU in particular – or had any recommendations to a few I could apply to.</p>

I forgot to mention some stuff ive done in programming.
ive had about 2 years of experience programming video games and AI in java
experience in sorting and ranking algorithms
and networked tools (Instant messaging and video games)
Ive done a little app programming but did not find it too interesting so didn’t continue it
I have also programmed my own website in HTML and Java script exclusively (no productivity tools)</p>

<p>You might wanna’ add University of Rochester to your list too, supposedly it’s “vibe” is close to that of WUSTL’s, and it’s generous with aid. You’d be a match there too. </p>
<p>good q. that would be my dream, but is unfortunately too unrealistic. I would apply ed to the most technical school I would have at least a chance at getting into.</p>
<p>No idea how grades work at your school so I can’t really say anything about that, but the courses you are taking are definitely rigorous and inline with your major. The only thing that worries me is your math classes. I don’t see AP Calc BC there. There will be a lot of people applying to CMU who took AP Calc BC in fresh or soph year (like my self and many others). You need to take AP Calc BC to show that you are ready for college level mathematics (Also taking Calc BC can help you raise that low SAT Math and SAT II Math)</p>
<p>As for you ECs, things you learned or taught yourself don’t count as ECs, they would be listed as skills on a resume. On your EC list the only real ECs you have are wrestling, sci fi and anime clubs, and chief of layout for the arts publication. Your ECs are lacking. You should look at doing programming competitions like USACO. Alternatively, you could take the skills you learned from your programming classes and turn them into a science fair project which would go under ECs. I would also suggest you take a portfolio of all the complex programs you have written (10,000+ lines of code) and assemble them into a portfolio to submit with your application. If your programs work really well, this will EXTREMELY help your application. Your sailing and wrestling will definitely help your EC list if you can get recruited for either or both of them. </p>
<p>As for SATs, you really need to boost this up to at least 2150+ If you are recruited, than anything above 2150+ will be fine. </p>
<p>All in all, if you get recruited and/or you do something with the skills you have that you can show to these colleges, then you have a good shot at getting in. Otherwise, I woulds still keep them all as reach schools simply because of a weak math background and a lack of ECs. </p>
