-Typical NHS, EHS, clubs etc. (just member, no leadership, but lots of hours put towards service projects in NHS)
-Started a non-profit to improve educational opportunities in the villages where my parents were raised in Europe and some of my relatives still reside (elaborated on my efforts in additional info section)
-Conducted research on the market in the aforementioned village areas and presented it at one of the said European country’s universities
-Interned with the European country’s equivalent of a supreme court over the summer
-photographer for a local non- profit that promotes music and dance as an outlet for creativity for children with mental disabilities
Teacher Recs: Both very strong I assume, discussed how I respond to challenge and how I express my creativity in class projects
Counselor Rec: very generic as everyone in my school switches to a new counselor each year
Intended major: economics/IR
Essays: I took risks on my common app and I think it turned out pretty well, tied into my background and unique heritage
My “Why Dartmouth” essay was okay but could have been better; I included a lot of specifics that I gleaned from researching but it did not flow as well as I wished
My other supplement touched briefly on some family issues but mainly was focused on how I have grown into a leader as a result
I realize its a major reach(esp. with my grades) and I will try not to get my hopes up but let me know what you guys think my luck will be like come March
