Magna Cum Laude on National Latin Exam

Duke certainly seems like a high match or low reach school for you! Your ACT score is right where it needs to be and you’ve excelled in your classes with strong extracurricular activities to accompany.
How are your essays and recommendations?

This clearly suggests that the OP’s ACT Composite (31) is well below the norm for those accepted by Trinity.

However, were the OP to retake the ACT Examination and significantly improve his results, obviously the probability of acceptance by Duke would be substantially enhanced.

Transal, it is my considered opinion that you do a disservice to participants when you provide clearly erroneous information (especially fact-based data, rather than opinion).

Your test scores are nice, much better than mine (29 ACT and 4.07 gpa) but you only have 5 APs. I think if you had more APs this school would be a match. Just really focus on your essay and I honestly think you will be okay.

Waitlist. Your ACT is good. Your AP’s are good. But your EC’s seem to be slacking. although you are the captain varsity you only achieved something on the county level.

no leadership ECs, Asian, and a so-so ACT score. Doesnt look so good even with good essays and recommendations
. Bring up ACT to a 33 and you should be only competitive, but even then, lack of leadership is a deal breaker.
