Very high reach due to 490 in SAT.

The main problem is the SAT, a 490 in Math doesn’t look very good, even if you’re an URM. Perhaps you took a retake last Saturday?

Your GPA is great (though being only top 25% with one that high makes me think your school’s scale is a bit wonky) and your URM status and extracurriculars are a big boost, but those SATs are absolutely awful. Your reading and writing are substandard as is and those are your best. The math is unacceptable. I don’t know of anyone here with cumulative or subsection scores that low, I’m sorry. The other black kids here tend to have very solid scores/GPA from their application

I’d really recommend a retake. You’ve got a lot of the other components, but the SAT is an absolute killer. You’ve got a 1790. That’s low even for LSP, and Stern is the one school that doesn’t defer mediocre applicants into LSP. You either get in or you don’t.
