Chance for Penn State University Park?

3.75 weighted or unweighted? If it’s unweighted, then I would say you’re a good match. You fall about right in the middle of applicants.

weighted but mostly honors classes

Oh…Well, I’d say it’s a low Reach to a high match then. Their GPA range is about 3.5-3.9 unweighted, and from what I’ve heard, GPA is the main part of their decision.

PSU UP…high match.

You’re right on the border between UP and branch campus so you’d need something else to psuh for you: AP classes/scores, dual enrollment at a community college, award in an EC, etc.

Even if that’s weighted, you’re still a pretty good match.

Looks like you’re a bit above the average in terms of SAT scores, and well above average for your GPA. I’ve heard Penn State is heavily un-holistic in their admissions, so that seems like it should be enough to get you in – it’d be a high match at worst, low match at best. If the rumors aren’t true and they do weigh extracurriculurs into their decision, though, you should be set; 2 varsity sports on top of several clubs (including NHS) are quite impressive.

3.75 weighted is sort of low. Last years average >unweighted< GPA was around a 3.6 according to their CDS. Your SAT score is around the 40% area…GPA is most important to Penn State though, and if you can afford to do the summer session, i’d recommend doing it for admission purposes and social purposes.

Probably a low reach/high match for GPA
