Im an international student. I first came to America in the 2007 as the only new junior to attend this high school. I struggled a lot to get used to the life here and did not have much time for other stuff. Therefore, expect to see a really weak EC. Also, I did not do anything over this summer because my father passed away in a car accident during the summer and I spent the entire break getting over it and taking care of his posthumous affair.

My high school is a prestigious private school on west coast. I’m applying for Electrical Engineering/Applied Math. I just got my deferral letter from Caltech. I’m looking into RD round.

So can anyone chance me for Caltech, MIT, Stanford, Columbia (Fu), Chicago, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Rice, Carnegie Mellon and the UCs (Berkeley and UCLA)?

I took my second SAT in December, havent got the score yet but I assume its 2300 to 2350.

A very strong college essay
(I delivered a speech in front of all students early this year on my experience since I came to America. People say it is the best school speech theyve ever heard for years and will ever hear for years to come. I managed to truncate it into a college essay, with the help of my college counselor)

3 very strong recommendation letters

Also–I hate to say this–due to my father’s sudden demise I succeeded him as the chairman of the board of directors of my dad’s company, controlling most of the company’s share. It is not a giant company like IBM or HP but it’s still pretty good.

I do not hold any position in the school government. I ran for Dorm Prefect and Orientation Leader last year but was not elected to either because people said my accent was too strong for them to understand what I was saying. lol

Many, many thanks.
