Wash U is pretty selective. A girl in my HS last year (Sri Lankan, Natl Merit Finalist, ACT 36, many AP’s, all A’s except one A minus, many EC’s, etc) got wait listed for Wash U and got into Brown. A boy in my HS last yr (Caucasian; Natl Merit Finalist; all A’s except one A minus and 6 AP’s plus multivariable calc at University; EC’s: many. All-State Band x4 yrs; Natl Spelling Bee; Natl Personal Finance Competition -2nd place as jr and 1st place as sr) got wait-listed at Wash U and got into Brown. A 3rd guy from my HS, a few yrs ago, had all A’s but one A minus and was Presidential Scholar–but didn’t get into Wash U and went to Princeton instead! In other words, it is not easy to get into. However, it is worth trying! My colleague’s daughter had a few A minuses, 6 or 7 AP’s, and was not Natl Merit (Indian girl; did have good EC’s including some research at the University) and she got in.

If thats anything, it shows the naviete and luck factor in college admissions Ill just try. Thanks alot for all the help guys
