<p>Hi everyone,</p>
<p>I’m going to be applying to the Yale SOM for an MBA program, and was wondering what you think my chances are.</p>
<p>I attended the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University Bloomington, earning a degree in Marketing, Management and Business Economics. I graduated with a 3.5 GPA. During my time there, I had very strong ECs e.g</p>
<p>-I founded a management workshop through which students could help local businesses with nonfinancial data management (excel based stuff), advertising and just general strategic advising, things they learn in class</p>
<p>-I won several case competitions and traveled a lot for them </p>
<p>-I was the president of three clubs throughout, and implemented major changes in them</p>
<p>-I held a research position for a professor and did paid work for him</p>
<p>-I held two internships, and performed in both, gaining results and have a lot to talk about them</p>
<p>After graduating, I worked for a little with Oracle as an associate consultant, and am currently employed by Accenture. I have worked very hard and gained promotions and pay raises in both jobs, and, as before, I have results to show and talk about- achievements. I have regularly traveled on relief missions to various parts of Asia. </p>
<p>I have a 730 on my GMAT. </p>
<p>The only problem, and blemish I feel on my resume is that in my second year of undergrad, I had to retake two accounting courses (I got Ds in both of them) that were prerequisites to getting a major at Kelley. I was going through a very hard time in my life, and I find accounting hard. To compensate though, I got a really good grade upon retaking them and managed to pull my GPA up in my last two years. Would this really affect my admission chances a lot? What do you suggest I do?</p>
