In order to give you some more suggestions, it might be helpful to get some more clarity.
In your original post you wrote:
Are the schools listed schools that your D likes and would be happy to attend? Or are these the only schools that have been investigated? Students do not need to apply to 20 schools. I think the average is about 6-7 schools, and many apply to less than that.
Additionally, what have been the reactions to the schools that have already been suggested? If you let us know what resonated (or repelled) and why, then posters can have a better idea of what kind of suggestions might be a hit for your D.
We know the desired budget and her interests with respect to majors, but thereâs a lot more to college than just that. If you could provide some additional information about what your D is looking for, that would help in providing additional suggestions. Here are some questions that might help get the juices flowing:
- Does she have a preferred size of school?
- Does she have a preference with respect to class sizes?
- How does she feel about urban/suburban/college town/rural colleges?
- How does she feel about significant enthusiasm for intercollegiate sports?
- How does she feel about Greek life?
- Are there particular interests that she would like to pursue that havenât been mentioned yet?
- Are there areas of the country that she prefers (or prefers to avoid)?
- Are there any climate concerns (whether the amount of sun, etc)?
- Are there any other factors that will play a role in the college decision, including religion or politics?
