Chance/match a stressed out junior with a "messy" application (3.76 gpa, southern state, 1560 SAT, cog sci major)

Op, I agree you have a very strong profile and you don’t need to stress.

There is NOTHING wrong with a prospective Cog Sci person doing CS/Psych (and it can be a psych major with a CS minor). It is still an emerging field, and don’t let nomenclature keep you from what you want to learn. So many kids slice the bologna way too thin… three things are important-

1- developing the analytical tools you’ll need (applied math, comp sci, writing)
2- exposure to the key content areas (psych, neuro, linguistics if that’s an interest)
3-robust faculty with a lot going on in terms of interdisciplinary and well funded research.

Doesn’t matter what they call it!

Good luck. Come back once you have an actual budget and we can help you trim your list.
