Chance me 11th Grade US Boarding Schools(GLADCHEMMS)

i know getting into 11th grade is really hard(virtually impossible) but still I wanna see the chances

background:

low-income, south Asian (Bangladesh, but I think barely any people apply here. An under-represented country in boarding schools)

stats:

Present Grade forms–(I have submitted predicted scores submitted by schools themselves. I didn’t know until my teacher let me know that the school allowed, with the predicted score, they sent the scores of mini-tests conducted by the school, which were graded.

-unweighted GPA 5.0/5.0, ranked 1 out of 600+ students

-SSAT(71 percentile----Ik it might sound very bad, which it is fs..But I was sick and attended the exam having 102 degrees fever while the doc literally said me to not go for it..but I still gave it..ik it still doesn’t make up. But the school knows it and I’ve sent them the medical prescription and they have accepted and my parents mailed them about my fever 3 days ago and they were all positive)

-Duolingo English Test 140/160

Awards:

  • Robotics:

-World Youth STEM Innovation and Invention(WYSII)–its a scientific conference where I will display my paper in Jan 29-2 Feb hopefully in Thailand..its s a robotics competition too.Our project was directly selected into the competition and the only one from my country–we’re managing sponsors for this ( We participated virtually due to lack of funds…and we came 2nd)

-Innovation World Cup(IWC) international round (qualified, but didn’t go due to schedule conflicts)

-Qualified for Codeavur Competition happening in Bali, Indonesia(National Round Silver Medalist)

-Also achieved second prize in a university organized Robotics competition.

-Royal Common Wealth Society Queen’s Essay Competition 2025 Gold awardee(this year had over 50K+ entries or maybe more)

  • Won an International Hackathon organized by students of University of Michigan

  • National Earth Science Olympiad Camp complete–rank among 5000+ participants

  • National Biology Olympiad— Silver Medalist

  • Won science project in a National Competition of my country–1st place(got special attention from a Canadian-Bangladeshi researcher)

  • National Physics Olympiad–1st place

  • Chemistry Olympiad of a prestigious institution of my country–2nd place

  • Won a prestigious award in a top research facility of Bangladesh

  • Bangladesh National Math Olympiad----National bronze(x2)

  • Bangladesh AI Olympiad ----National bronze

Soccer—

1.Won inter-school football tournament

2.Won inter-class(like 11th grade vs 12th grade type)…

3.Won inter-house competition( We have boarding shift and day shift..day shift are 1 house and boarding shift are divided into 3 other houses..so there’s a soccer comp. and my team won that)

Position: CDM/LB(preferable)..also play in CM(according to formation)

Cricket–I am the Vice captain of the team. but ig US boarding school doesn’t play the sport

extracurriculars:

-Youth Quiz BD (President):

Organized 3 National Level STEM events and workshops for junior students (aged 9-13) for free.

Raised $300 in funding from local organizations to aid financially distressed students in getting an education.

Currently working to organize Olympiad enthusiasts in the country to establish an intellectual learning space.

OptaMEch Robotics is a branch of it where we I along with my team do robotics(some more info is given bout it)

-Internship at Tecevents (Research Intern):

Completed a 6-month long internship program.Committed 5 hours per week.Mainly worked on data analysis under a mentor studying at North-South University.( i have detailed results too)

DRMC Math Club(Junior Representative):

I am working as a volunteer here for over 5 years.

I’ve helped to organize 4 National level events and 3 National Seminars (they were open to all)

I’ve mainly worked here in the Quiz Department and Graphics Designing department.

Passion project(STEMaccess):

-STEMaccess is a platform where high school students will get information about different scholarships and internships. Moreover, there will be a grade-specific system that will inform them about what they possibly should do at their current grade to get into their dream school. This whole website will work for completely free or maybe with a minimum amount, so that any international student can have access to the information they require.

-I am currently working as the front end developer for developing my passion project alongside other members of the team

STEMtopiaMED–I am the front end developer and an educator..this program aims for 9-12 year olds interested in biology and biotech to gather and have sessions and knowledge about it…it will be free..we’ll be commencing this summer.

Research Experience-

I published a research paper named “Ecosystem of Bangladesh” which mainly focused in the sustainable development and industrial development of Bangladesh. For writing the research paper, I worked relentlessly for 6 months. And after that, for presentation I made a hand-made model for this paper which later on multiple national level accolades including recognition from Government and Canadian-Bangladeshi scientist showed interest to work on this project. I’m currently working under him for this project.

I published another research paper named “Vanishing Glaciers” under National Earth Olympiad. Initially, this paper was submitted for the competition. But later on, all of the team members agreed to work on this research paper more and we published it.

The most notable paper was “Augmented Perception and Collaborative Control for Low-Cost Robotics”..for this paper we got into the upper mentioned competitions..and also its the 1st of its kind..and we’ve also built a physical protype..I was the lead member of this team(this team worked under OptaMech Robotics I mentioned earlier in Youth Quiz BD part)–some info about it-----------

Its a 6 DOF robotic arm which can move on its own without any human help..can be revolutionary in medical and automobile, other industries..Its made of long research..so its my best work yet

-I’m also working with a mentor from Bangladesh Uni of Engineering and Technology (BUET) on Climate Modeling of planets like Proxima Centauri b based on available data and creating a simulation(we’re still working on it)

Freelancing-

-I did freelancing for 2 years worked to create videos and graphics for over 50+ clients

-Also doing an internship under Zealyxi of video editing

-I also do independent content creation (and I’m a huge fiction lover)–In July of 2025, I created a YouTube channel named (I don’t wanna put here for privacy reasons) where I uploaded films and series edits using Adobe After Effects and Davinci Resolve. I primarily created the channel because I had a strong passion for video editing, and my dad, a professional video editor, taught me the necessary skills.

interview:

Andover - 10/10 (she was an English teacher..she was very sweet, honestly, and I really liked how she addressed probs and everything)

Essay—(well I am giving you the starting portion and for the rest of the part–I will give an overview of what I’ve written)

Our house learned a new habit: listening.
I kept a notebook beside my bed then. Not for homework, but to write down things I didn’t know how to say out loud. The
silence inside my home grew so heavy that a car idling too long in the lane sounded like thunder, and if footsteps paused
outside, we stopped breathing inside, counting seconds, measuring danger in heartbeats. To protect us, my father asked that
we never leave the house together. This all began after he made a report against a corrupt businessman involved in illegal
activities. Suddenly, even a short walk to the store felt like a strategic operation. The confinement shocked me as I had grown
up independent, living in boarding school from third to sixth grade, before COVID. Freedom had been my normal, but fear? It
was new.

Then it goes from isolation–>support from community—> leadership–> robotics—>community—>growth & my understanding(briefly)–ending in notebook metaphor circularly

(One of the issues I am very afraid is that AI detectors are flagging everything from me idk what to do bout it, but I wrote it by myself)
Gimme honest opinions!

Your application is probably one of the best, but if AI detection catches you, you will be in a lot of trouble, so I suggest trying to explain it to them or just anything that covers your back.

Hey I am also from the country, you are applying from… I am applying in grade 10.

Actually idk how to say it. But all the people who’ve read my essay said that it is HUMAN completely. And idk about AI tbvh.. AI detectors, as of my knowledge, are inaccurate, but if schools use them idk..btw many detectors are whitelisted that..And let’s say..without it, what do you think about the rest of the application? Does it stand a chance against others?

Your application is crazy good, but because you are from an underrepresented country, the schools might not be able to convert that into their own standards {If you know what I’m Saying} and there is no way for us to chance you because none of us know what goes on in the admissions office. I think we should all just wait until M10 to see what happens

All of my teachers actually included avg. marks with detailed grade(for what percentage, you get what grade, like if you get 80%+, you get an A*) breakdowns for the schools, especially my physics teacher, which included the highest marks and also mentioned courses curricula and their details as much as possible. And my teacher said that he broke down some subjects and their equivalents, too. Idk if that helps. And in all of interviews I also talked about it.

I am not gonna post anything else..gotta lock in for my tests first and then I have comps. too so good luck everyone.

Please if you’re a parent and a student accustomed to private boarding school/went to any of them, I humbly request you to share your honest even if brutal opinions.

Does this refer to the BdPhO? Shouldn’t a first place in this qualify you for the IPhO training camp?

So a basic problem for all of us is we lack critical information. For example, we do not really know what your interviewers are going to report, what exactly is in your recommendations and how they will evaluate that, or how they will evaluate your essays. Ultimately they look for applicants who they think will be a good fit for their community, and we just do not know what they will conclude in your case.

That does not mean this critical factor is going to be bad, it could be great, we just do not know. And without that sort of information, we cannot really give you a meaningful prediction about what will happen when they discuss your application.

And there is more. We don’t really know how they will evaluate your transcript, or how they will include test scores in their evaluations. We do not know who else is applying. We do not know how many slots they would even consider filling for 11th grade, and what institutional priorities they might have for any such slots. And so on.

So really, at this point you can only wait and see what happens. I am sure it is not easy, but there isn’t going to be someone here who can really predict what will happen with any useful reliability.

It’s optional(I chose not to attend camp as I had mid-terms, and that was in 8th grade when I got that and definitely it was pointless to go for the nationals at that time.

Are you applying from Bangladesh? And 11th grade?

So why not take it in 9th then? And if you got first place in the olympiad, I don’t see why attendi camp would be pointless.

bruh I had MID- TERMS THEN I’d fail the class if I didn’t ATTEND the EXAM.

Charter Schools are very strict about giving exams and barely give you chances to shrug it until you’re Junior Student
