Chance me: 8th grader who reads and writes poetry. No notable achievements

Hey!

Please chance me for Gann Academy, Boston University Academy, Nobles and Greenough, and Commonwealth School.

I am a US citizen, applying for 9th grade. I do a cradles to crayons program the TLC and have reapplied so this time will be my third. Have volunteered 50 hrs online (Zooniverse), and around 15 hrs at Cradles to Crayons. One of my poems will be published in a Young Poets an anthology. I want to become a criminal attorney. So far have 100% in all my classes. Haven’t taken SSAT yet but took baseline official practice test and got estimated 80th percentile. Lexile level is 1000+ for reading. Won best position paper at Commonwealth’s UN conference for middle schoolers and that was my first conference EVER. Love MUN. I will go to northeastern and also no prep Unagb.

I know I haven’t achieve many things, but let me know please.

Some of my poems:

Also forgot to say but I did drive for TLC that got like 40 bags and did fundraiser that raises $250. Have photos as well for BUA’s video application part.

I take it that you plan on being a day student.

You have a reasonable list, you have good grades, and you seem to value your volunteer work, so you’re probably a nice kid to be around.

You don’t mention sports or performance arts. Many schools require that their students participate in sports (some offer alternatives to team sports), so be aware of that.

One of the things that schools value in applicants is that they will contribute to the community, not just be a good academic student.

You might want to add a couple of higher admit schools - Chapel Hill Chauncy Hall is near Gann, for example. I’m personally partial to the Cambridge School of Weston, which might interest the writer in you.

Of their list, Nobles is a sporty school. The rest not so much. Commonwealth not at all. Commonwealth and BUA have a different vibe. More Boston Latn-y grinderish. But that may have changed.

Echo CSW. Great school and community for students that fit OP’s profile.

I loved Rivers. If you’re musical, I think you’d find it similar to CSW in terms of vibe. It is sporty, however, but a supportive place for kids who like arts and literature as well.

Another vote to look at CSW. Beaver might also be worth a look. More than a couple kids I knew ended up with those 2 at the top of their list.

Beaver is another good call.

Oh yea I’m applying for day only tho maybe one or two boarding (my parents want day). I don’t do sports, yet was Willard (primary antagonist) in my school’s play.

Gann is my safety, as they admit a lot of people and aren’t very selective

Yeah commonwealth is my top choice, but my parents love nobles, ergo, I apply there too.

I do chorus, gardening club, invitational film club, re starting CPAR (a Harvard class club thing). Also do MUN, pf debate, ect

Also js got the info but 2 more of my writing pieces (short stories) r getting published in the young writers thing
