Great essay

Chances? Also, what could I do to improve my chances? Gracias!

No chance at USC.

Slight reach at Chapman and Santa Clara.
Reach at Zaga and Duquesne.
Look fine at University of Denver, University of Hawaii, Hawaii Pacific University, Cal State Fullerton

are you talking about the duquesne in pittsburgh pennsylvania?

ermmmmm…it’s the only one.

Yes. That’d be the one.

well i live in pittsburgh, and i know a lot of ppl who attend duquesne, and to me, it looks like a very good match school for you. its definitely not a reach at all.

You would know better than I would.

Any other opinions?

Yep Duquesne’s a great match!
[ i live in Pittsburgh as well ]

Any clue on how good they are w/ financial aid?

Quick bump…

In at Duquesne.

People with much lower scores go there from my school every year.

Well, coming from Hawaii will give your application a boost at out-of-state schools, I’d imagine. For most of the schools you’ve listed, your stats look good… the only one that stands out as unlikely is USC because of your GPA and SAT scores. The GPA can’t really be fixed, but if you’re absolutely dying to go to USC, you could try retaking your SATs. If you were able to boost your scores in each sub-test 100 points (so you’d have 710, 700, 710) you’d be in better shape for the school.

Chances on a scale of: high reach, reach, semi-reach, good fit, likely, safety.

University of Denver… GOOD FIT.
University of Southern California… HIGH REACH.
University of Hawaii… SAFETY.
Hawaii Pacific University… SAFETY.
Chapman University… GOOD FIT.
California State University, Fullerton… SAFETY.
Gonzaga University… GOOD FIT.
Duquesne University… LIKELY.
Santa Clara University… GOOD FIT.

Bumpity…also looking at Seattle U as of now.

I think you’re in at Gonzaga (Even though admission is getting tougher there every year…I think the diversity you’d bring would be very attractive to our area and the school! If you have any questions about Spokane, WA I’d be willing to answer them!) and Seattle U.

I’m not even going to wager a guess on the other ones, as I’ve not researched 'em and don’t know anyone who is currently attending the schools.

if you don’t mind me asking…
what high school are you from?

i live in hawaii and will be graduating this year as well…
(mililani high c/o '08!)

I was just in Maui over labor day. Enjoyed it immensely. Went golfing in Pukalani and drove the Hana road;–really great views from both of these

I pretty much agree with the others.

USC–High Reach
Chapman–Reach
Santa Clara–Slight Reach
Gonzaga/Hawaii/Cal State Fullerton/Univ of Denver–Match
Duquesne/Hawaii Pacific–Safe Match

Best of success to you.

Kamehameha

bump…any more input?
