What’s your unweighted GPA?

If it’s 4.0 or close to that then with your strong test scores and solid extracurriculars you are academically competitive almost everywhere. Highly rejective schools are still reaches even for top students but you certainly have a shot. Good luck!

It seems you are interested in biology and biochemistry. Do these fields represent potential majors of interest for you?

Hi! They don’t, I did scientific research for a summer and really did not enjoy the process, as a debater I’ve really developed an affinity for all things reading, writing, critical thinking, and argumentation

my unweighted is a 3.98! Do you think it would be worth REA-ing to a school like Yale or saving that for RD? I was thinking of REA-ing to Yale and ED2 to UChicago. I think my essays are really good.

If these are your top two choices, go for it! The UChicago essay prompts are very unique so don’t leave them until the last minute. As with any candidate, you should have a solid list of target and a safety or two. Good luck to you!

Yes! If Yale is top choice and affordable then REA. If declined then ED2 to your second choice if affordable. If deferred from Yale then you have another choice to make!!

You may be able to enhance you college list by researching the schools in this site: https://www.usnews.com/best-colleges/rankings/writing-programs. As a further suggestion, you may benefit from considering LACs, such as Amherst, Hamilton, Williams and Vassar, along with your university choices.

You know that as a National Merit Scholar - if a semi or finalist, you can go for free to very good Tulsa or just about free at various large publics.
