Even if they would have to start to pay them back, I will eventually pay them back after residency.
Ik that residency pays less than minimum wage

This would make it impossible for students of lesser means to obtain advanced degrees, med school etc. It is hard enough now.
Its just going to make it harder for middle class people to get an education lol
@Kingo I would urge you to limit your undergrad loans to as little as possible…really none, if possible.
This will open up more options for you for grad school or professional school.
Will your parents qualify for these huge loans? What about paying them back if you can’t? What will happen when/if your siblings attend college or graduate programs?
I understand, and Rutgers would be the cheapest public school for that.
But this thread also recommended some schools that would give good merit aid (Like Uni of Alabama)
What would your cost be at Alabama?
Im trying to figure that out rn lol.
My school doesnt use a 4.0 scale its a 4.33 unweighted.
How would I calculate that
Is a 4.33 an unweighted A+?
yes
For medical school you would take out the federal loans, not your parents. You can only take out $27,000 over 4 years in student federal loans in undergrad.
A 4.0 would be an unweighted A.
Would an AP class add .33 (A+ in an AP class is 4.66)?
No AP classes are weighted the same as our honor classes
I’ll send a pic, but in my student handbook it only shows how they calculate weighted.
Do you have a transcript from the end of junior year? Your gpa should be calculated there.
Weighted gpa is higher than unweighted. Are you saying g you have an A+ in every class? Where does the 3.7 come from?
On my transcript it says this (average for freshman to junior year)
3.7751/4.33 UW
5.1582/6.33
yep
3.7751/4.33 Unweighted
5.1582/6.33 Weighted
For weighted I think the highest someone has is a 5.8 or 5.9
I am not really understanding what it means. Somebody else might.
Your weighted gpa is higher than the highest?
