I’m an international student who is pretty keen on US colleges as they offer a flexible curriculum and courses that are not available back home. I’m from Singapore, and am fluent in 2 languages (English and Mandarin Chinese), and also knows basic German (I learnt it for 2 years).
I’m going to take the SAT in October. Based on a diagnostic test:
Math - 680
Evidence based reading and writing - 710
Reading sub test - 37
SAT Essay - 19
I’m around the top 10% in my school (a junior college), have an excellent disciplinary track record, and a decently impressive extra-curricular activity record.
- Volunteered with individuals with intellectual disabilities (taught them simple games and songs), provided weekly academic mentoring sessions for kids from lower-income families, interacted with elderly at risk of social isolation
- Captain of my sports team for 2 seasons
- Consistent Overall Team Top 4 placings at the national level for four years consecutively, including 3 national championship titles.
- Have received leadership, academic achievement, and sports excellence national awards for the past 4 years.
