Chance me as a British-Canadian applying for Aerospace Engineering [8.1/9.0 GCSEs, 1460 SAT, parents do not intend to pay]

But you said they will pay noting.

If that’s $19K Canadian, it’s like $14K US.

If it’s $19K US, then I recommend for sure (if you want to be here):

Washington & Lee - you MUST apply today - for a chance at the full - ride merit scholarship - called the Johnson. They meet need for international (need blind) regardless but the Johnson is free.

They give to 10% of the class - so 40+ kids each year and they have engineering. It’s not ABET accredited but going home after, it may not matter.

And as I mentioned, of all the publics, Alabama is the one I know keeps merit the same for intl where most schools give less - so that’d put you mid-20s - maybe an on campus job ban help there. They have an aero major.

You can focus on Stanford and MIT after - but the Johnson is one you should do and you must do today - and yes, it has an essay beyond the common app essay.

It’s still unlikely but has 44 slots they’ll fill with this scholarship - so that’s 44 better chances than Harvard or Stanford taking you - and here in the US, it’s a fantastic name - and per parents on this board, their career placement is top shelf.
