Chance me at CAS please!!

Hi, hello :)
I appreciate your taking a look at my thread in advance

I'm an East Asian female going to a pretty competitive high school in California
My unweighted gpa is around 3.5 (yeah... I'm not really proud of it) and my weighted gpa is 3.99. But please consider the fact that I will have completed 7 AP classes and a bunch of honors classes. And also I got that National Merit Commended thing...

I took the SAT three times: 1950, 2120, 2160
super score breakdown: 700 Reading 760 Math 720 Writing (2180)
SAT IIs: 800 Korean, 760 Math Level 2

I don't have great ECs. I'm just a member of Model UN and during summer I voluteered at local courthouse. And since last summer I'm working at law offices. I hope it could be a plus that I showed some kind of commitment to politics/law as I applied for politics major. And my essay is about my interest in political science and how I came to love it.

My senior year courses are AP GOV, AP Calculus AB, AP Physics, Spanish 7 Honors, and English. By the end of first semester, I think I'll get 2 B's from Gov and Spanish and As on others. And I'm adding a course, Health, next semester.

Looking at the acceptance history, an average of 14 to 15 students were accepted to NYU in the past 5 years.

I gave a pretty thick brag sheet to my counselor so her letter would be just fine. And another teacher who's known me for 3 years now wrote me another letter so hers wouldn't hurt.

I came to the United States about 7 years ago and I'm the first gen to go to college.

Considering that my essays are not too bad cuz I actually spent some time on them except the third supplement essay which I'm not so proud of, what do you guys think are my chances at NYU College of Arts and Science?

Please let me hear what you guys think cuz I really really want NYU. I'm happy to help anyone else wondering the same thing

BTW I applied Early Decision II

Thanks guys, I appreciate it :D

SAT is average

GPA is below average

Overall, you're a slightly below average applicant. However, your good class rigor may make up for your lower GPA.

Your SAT is in range. You have good scores on your SATII. ED2 will certainly help. I think you've got a great chance!

I think you have a good chance. Your GPA is a little bellow their average but I got accepted at CAS with a 3.5 unweighted. You have good test scores too so that should be a plus.

I think you would be a strong applicant

nyu will completely disregard 800 korean sat2.

my honest opinion is i'm not so sure... you really need extracurriculars; they are a HUGE part of the application process

as people said, you take high level courses, which is another highly important factor. your interest in a particular field/major is also unique and is definitely something great.

good chance of LSP

following up JerryZhang..... why will NYU completely disregard her 800 Korean satII?
