Hi, I’m a junior, and i was just curious as to how i could possibly compare to other FSU applicants in regards to scholarship money.

unweighted GPA: 3.86
weighted GPA: 4.7

SAT: 1270; 1960 (taking this again in june)
AP Classes taken and grades achieved:

AP Bio- 5
AP Psychology-5
AP World History- 5
AP Chemistry- 4

taking AP Statistics, AP Physics B, AP Literature, and AP US History right now

next year im taking AP English Lang, AP macro econ, AP micro econ, AP comparitive gov, AP US gov and politics, AP Calc BC, AP Enviro

extra-curriculars: mens varsity soccer team, varsity academic team (probly captain next year), National Honor Society Junior officer (and possibly president next year), Rho Kappa Vice-president, tutor, volunteer at disney, volunteer at middle school for soccer team, performed in plays, Florida Boys State delegate.

Just curious why you are volunteering at Disney? They’ve got a lot of money, maybe ask them for some money (pay).

a friend of mine was helping out with one of their marathon runs, and i was brought along…it was a volunteering opportunity and i thought it would be a good time…and it was.

Ok, if the marathon was raising money for a charity that’s one thing and volunteering is a good thing. If you were volunteering to help Disney out so Disney can make money, you should get paid.

Your school stats are very good and you should be able to get some merit scholarship money; if not from FSU, from outside sources. If you get your SAT scores up you’ll be in even better shape. Good luck!

thanks for that bit of information
i hope that i get merit money from fsu…because i really wanna go here

and yea, i shouldve clearified that it was for disneys marathon runs…theres no way i would volunteer on a random day for them at their park…haha :P

I agree with Lizard. Your stats will already earn you a spot in the honors program, and very likely a scholarship, but an improved SAT score wouldn’t hurt.

Also, on your application, don’t put “volunteered for Disney.” Put the charity that your service benefited.
