UCLA is my dream school and I would appreciate chances and/or advice on how to improve them.

Also chances for University of Alabama and University of Miami

Planning on majoring in psychology

Send your ACT only; your SAT won’t help you.

UCLA seems like it’ll be a low reach; your ACT is good, and your GPA seems okay, as are your ECs. If you’re out-of-state, keep in mind it’ll be around $55k annually for tuition. Just do well with academics senior year and you’ll have a decent shot.

Alabama won’t be an issue, and you’ll get a full-tuition merit scholarship to boot. You’ll still have room and board to pay, but it would make UA a good deal, assuming it’s affordable.

UMiami is probably a match, idk.

Reach for UCLA but if you are willing to pay full fees of $55K a year, it might give you a shot.

Hey there! Ignore the haters, my friend… you and I look like very similar applicants and I was admitted into UCLA’s class of 2019! Let’s see what advice I can give… It’s a bummer that you only took 2 AP’s but hey, if that’s all your school offers than you did what you could! I agree, don’t send your SAT… your ACT rocks though! I also played varsity soccer, participated in my school musical, was in National Honors Society, and a leader of Habitat for Humanity!! :slight_smile: I may be bias, but your extracurriculars look great lol! I would, however, try and attain some sort of concrete leadership position… You’re definitely active but I don’t see outstanding leadership… and that’s important! Your GPA is goooood and… yeah! Make sure you SLAY those essays!!! My biggest advice is to take a unique angle on every essay prompt and try and be as creative as possible. Don’t hesitate to ask me any questions you may have about UCLA or the process… Good luck and GO BRUINS!
