Chance me Berkeley, HMU, Grinnell RD

Hi! I’m deciding whether to 1) apply to Grinnell or HMU ED 2) apply RD all around and keep waiting on other reaches (Berkeley) or 3) wait in HS another year to develop stronger ECs (I’m currently on track to graduate early). I selected the CS major in my Berkeley app but now am coming back around to biomedical engineering. Have been accepted to safety state schools but finding matches is hard.

White female
ACT 35 highest sitting (32 math, 36 others)
ACT superscore 35 (33 math, 36 others)
SAT Math II 790
SAT Physics 760 (my school offers no AP physics, only mechanics / am currently taking a better university class but still no electricity)
GPA 4.1 unweighted (or so my guidance counselor swears)
Class rank 3/172
…as of now, we’ll see how finals go…

ECs:

Starting FIRST team at my school this year, first STEM EC we’ve had in years

Key Club secretary 2016, low hours

NHD nationals qualifier 2016 (no idea what this counts for but plastered it all over my applications)

Introduced AMC 12 at my school last year, low score but highest out of the few who took it

2017 two-week summer microbiology course with research

Varsity CC sophomore year (2016)

Perfect score at state Spontaneous Speaking 2017

As you can see my most glaring problem is committing to one interest/area. I literally have not done it. Seriously considering a redo of my “senior year” to see if I can’t develop some sort of point.

Any advice is hugely appreciated! Thanks

If you are not sure which college is your first choice, it does not look like a good idea to apply ED anywhere.

Your ECs aren’t bad at all, and certainly are no reason to stay in high school for another year. Many students aren’t sure of what they want to do specifically and you are so strong academically that I can’t imagine them being a hinderance to your applications. But yeah, I would not ED anywhere if you can’t decide where you want to go yet. You’ll get in to so many good schools RD, I just don’t think ED is necessary.
