another update: rejected from tulane (which honestly i’m not super upset about) but i got into auburn!

Hey congrats on getting into boulder! Its on of my top choices too. I’m going to tour it soon. is there anything you think I should look for and consider?
You were probably just late to the party at Charleston. That combined with not doing the essay was probably interpreted as a lack of interest.

FWIW, I was told that UTK had 59,000 applications this year for 2024-25. (It boggles the mind.) So that may explain in part why you were waitlisted.

Yes, son OOS from MA got into UTK and they shared stats that equated to ~24% acceptance for OOS and ~35% acceptance overall. This is significantly more competitive than past years.
