Story: I grew up in Brooklyn but after 5th grade moved to Arizona. I left because one mom was crippled by a doctor and became a paraplegic and the other mom (lesbians) permanently damaged her ankle when a bus didn’t kneel. We moved for the weather and I’ve been dealing with suicidal handicap parents ever since. I’m lower middle class on paper but can afford to pay tuition. My parents have since split up and I am the sole caretaker for my paraplegic mother. My grades have suffered but I have tried to make due with what resources I have available. I go to a high school of 180 people and am ranked 9th. It is one of the best schools in the state but because of size only offers 5 ap classes, all of which I’m taking. Because of my home situation I have found it hard to be motivated to do homework and what not especially since I understand the material (hence the 5’s) and dealing emotionally with suicidal parents and being the caretaker puts stress on me. When I retake my SAT I am predicted to score around 2200-2300 after studying. Really this is a story of a fish out of water. I want to go back to New York with types of people I’m familiar with and be able to put my self in an environment to utilize my potential and thrive as a individual. I want to study something with finance in undergrad and do a dual degree program afterwards to get my J.D. and M.B.A. NYU and BU are my top choices and with decent grades, excellent test scores, and my story am hoping I can get in. What do you guys think.
