Essays/LORs/Other

Wrote a Personal statement on reflecting on a historical story of a financial risk management formula involving probability, randomness, and a war-time innovation birthed in a bathtub—connecting it metaphorically to my own life. Having moved often and adapted to unpredictable environments (as a immigrant), I drew parallels between complex systems influenced by random variables and my ability to navigate change, uncertainty, and reinvention. The essay culminates in a moment of inspiration from a veteran, where I began to reflect on how I could use my skills and ideas to put tangible value into the world—regardless of if I as a person will be forgotten or not. “to be remembered for my work not me as a person”

Questions I have:

On the side I do have an opportunity to do research with a professor at a local university on a relevant business field-however i’m not passionate about it and feel like unless I achieve smth big in it it’s kinda useless and shows admissions a bit of fakeness) (is it ok to drop it?)

I also have a investment club that’s the second biggest club at my school-i’m not putting it because every other kid has a club and I already kinda show the business niche in me. (is it ok to drop it?)

I’m only adding 8 of my EC’s because I portray my business/film making passions pretty well and wanna show that I’m concentrated in it and show my boldness. (Is this bad and could it backfire?)

I’m not ranked in my class and my grades ok (mid to low 90s) should I compensate this with something else?
