I was planning on continuing into year 2 of IB Chem but due to a course conflict (apparently IB Eng SL year 2 and IB Chem SL year 2’s only available class was 7th period) I could not continue one of them.

Schools
Cal Poly SLO
Cal Poly Pomona
CSU Long Beach
CSU San Diego
San Jose State

Forgot to mention for Cal Poly SLO at least, I am the vice president of my school’s programming club.

Should get into all CSU’s except for Cal Poly SLO which I cannot chance.
For CPP you can look at the link below, looks like you exceed the index. SJSU should be similar.

https://www.cpp.edu/admissions/freshmen/freshman-student-profile.shtml

You have a really good profile IMO!

I am a hs like you but I would say you have a really good chance for all. If not then is not looking too good for me either :frowning:

SLO calculates their GPA with 9-11th a-g course grades and caps the honors points at 8 semesters for qualified courses. You can use the CSU GPA calculator:

SLO projected Computer Engineering admit was around 19% and the admitted SLO GPA range (25th-75th percentile) for the College of Engineering was 4.13-4.25.

SLO should be considered a Low Probability school.

What is your local CSU? https://www.calstate.edu/apply/freshman/documents/csulocaladmission-serviceareas.pdf

SJSU calculates its index by CSU_GPA * 800, where yours is 4.12 * 800 = 3296.

For engineering applicants, it also adds math_GPA * 400, though it does not specify whether it is weighted or limited to 10th-11th grade. Depending on the calculation, your math_GPA could be as low as 3.66 or as high was 4.5, for an additional 1466 to 1800 points, giving a total of 4762 to 5096 points. Last year’s computer engineering threshold was 4680, according to Freshmen Impaction Results | Admissions , so it looks likely to admit (though the threshold is determined competitively and can change every year). Note that computer science had a threshold of 3440 (without the math_GPA * 400 addition), so you should consider computer science to be a reach.

CPP calculates its index by CSU_GPA * 1000 + 450, where yours is 4570. Freshman Student Profile says that last year’s threshold was 4410, so it looks likely to admit (though again the threshold is determined competitively each year). Computer science had a higher threshold of 4670.

Very good chance for all CSUs, except CPSLO. I also think very good chance for UCM, UCR and UCSC for Comp Eng. Good luck
