At this point, what is the best thing I can do to improve my chances?
Also, would it be frowned upon that I only have two years of foreign language? I have the choice between French and AP Stats for my schedule next year, and although I would rather take AP Stats, my school counselor insists that I won’t get into any of my prospective colleges without the third year of French.
Any recommendations for other schools I should also be looking into? I’m mostly looking for schools strong in science (not sure which field yet, but leaning towards engineering) and/or music.

BTW, I’m an Asian female

I would take the French. Imo, Stats are better studied in college, particularly if you would end up in a stat course specifically intended for your field of study. And, as I see it, a year of French is more educationally beneficial to you than a year of Stats. You can always take Stats.

Significant Extracurriculars:
Marching Band - Hey, me too!
Wind Ensemble - Hey, me too!
Principal Clarinet in Youth Orchestra - Well, not me…
Robotics Club - Rocket club for me!
Science Team - I wish we had one
founding member of Winter Drumline - Heh, I wasn’t founding but was lead at Mission Viejo HS. Ever heard of it?

I have a lot of respect for winter drumline people. It is a tough activity. (WGI, SCPA?)

I think you have good scores and extracurriculars. Your chances at Mudd are decent assuming you take the hardest math/science classes at your HS. You’ll also need mostly 5s on your math/science AP exams.

haha, yay go band!
What I loved about winter drumline was that it was much more intimate than marching band and required more teamwork because it’s much easier to for judges to spot mistakes. We actually competed only in ADLA, but are planning to compete in SCPA next year. I have heard of your school, maybe I’ll see you at a competition, yeah?

bump thanks

Good SATs, Good GPA, good ECs. You are in at the UC’s and Oberlin. The rest are high matches. You have a good shot at all schools. You might want to add Cornell Engineering to your list and MIT as a reach. Good Luck.
