Chance me: Emory, U of Michigan, California Davis

I’m really hoping to get into one of these schools! If anyone has a recommendation for a different school that would also be helpful.

Act: 29 (first try-this could go up)
Gpa: 4.0
Classes: I’m a junior. I have taken/will take next year: accel math through pre-calc, accel Chem and bio, AP bio, org Chem accel, anatomy accel, AP psych, honors and ap English, ap us history, and 3 years of Latin accel.
Extracurriculars: Leading a farm “camp” for young children, hundreds of hours in theater, leadership in theater, volunteering at a food pantry.

I’m a white female from Illinois and I do not need much financial aid. I plan to major in biology and then get a master’s in genetics/genetic counseling. I’m a legacy at University of Michigan.

UC Davis will give no financial aid as an out of state applicant so expect to pay $60,000/ year to attend.
UC’s only calculate their GPA based on 10-11th grades so you will need to finish Junior year to determine if you are competitive. Also, OOS students only get the extra weighted Honors points for AP/IB or DE courses in the calculation. Make sure you meet all the a-g course requirements also.

I would try to bump up your ACT score since Biological sciences are impacted at Davis.

ACT 29 from OOS is too low for UMich. The overall mid 50 is 31-34 last year. You should aim at 33+ from OOS for a decent chance.
