College Class Year: 2014
Public High School
Class Size: Around 300
Sends maybe 20 students to top schools each year.
Class Rank: Top 10%
GPA as of now: 3.67 unweighted.
Not sure what it would be weighted because our school never made it clear what classes get the extra point.

I really don’t like the way our school does things. We aren’t allowed to take any APs until Junior year with the exception of AP Chemistry.
This year I’m taking: AP Calculus AB, AP Chemistry, AP US History, AP Language.
The max at our school is 4 APs per year, and I had to fight with my counselor to be allowed to take all of them. We had a student take 5 a couple years ago though.

SAT I Math: 780
SAT I CR: 730
SAT I Writing: 800 (Total: 2310)
SAT II Math II: 800
SAT II US History: 720 (Perhaps a retake?)
I will be taking Physics and Chemistry at the end of this school year.

Extracurriculars:
- Around 150 hours at YSPIRIT, a program for mentally handicapped teens.
- 4 Years of Track, 2 Varsity. Received award for hurdling my freshman year.
- Cofounder/Secretary of our Hip Hop Club (my friends like to breakdance) for 3 years. Will be club of the year this year.
- Participated in some film festivals.
- Perhaps a volunteer abroad program in Beijing during the upcoming summer working with autistic children.

No job experience =(.

Recommendations: Very Good
Essay: Haven’t gotten there yet haha.

I got a 230 on my PSAT so I hope to be National Merit.

The schools I will be applying to:
Harvey Mudd College (ED)
UC Berkeley
Carnegie Mellon University
University of Michigan (Ann Arbor)
UC San Diego
UC Irvine
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo

Any ideas? Am I aiming too high? Too low?
Kinda screwed my GPA over. I never had the self-discipline to sit down and study for a class. I’ve been forced to study for AP US History because the amount of material is preposterous.
