CHANCE me? + essay question

ok my stats
SAT:
1250/1600
1840/2400

M:690/800
R:560/800
W:590/800
Essay: 12/12

Class Rank:
22.9%

EC:
filled up the application page with stuff I’ve been doing since freshman year, to name a few…
martial arts 4 years
cross country
2 jobs
baby sitting
5 or so clubs

Letters of rec:
sent in two

Interest:
attended SEAL camp, only 100 people get to go.
(should i attend another camp? or did I already show enough interest?)

A&M is my top choice as listed in my application, do YOU think I have a good chance at getting in?

side note:
essay c hasn’t been processed yet, essay A+B were processed on 12/3, is this a good reason to be concerned? Or did they read the first two and decide that I was A&M worthy and decide reading the last one wouldn’t be worth the time?
^input on this issue would help cool my anxiety about my application^

Pretty good chances. I’d say you’re in.
And for your essay, don’t worry about it. They’ll probably process it eventually…

sounds pretty good
and they take forever to process stuff. i sent in all of my stuff, and they processed my letters of rec, resume, etc. on the 18th of november, and my transcript finally processed on the 24th. it just takes time.

hope everything works out :)

Yea, i’m just worried about it because you’d think that they would process all of the essays on the same day… but i don’t know how it works. i was just wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing as me and got in. Just worried about getting accepted in general and little stuff like this keeps bothering me

Did you check your apply texas application, to make sure that your essay c was submitted? I know that sounds dumb, but you never know. Your best bet is to call admissions. They’ll be able to best help you (:

I actually talked to them and they said that if the document isn’t required for acceptance then they don’t list it as processed.

Also, i would still like to hear input about my chances, thanks!

ok, i’m just trying to figure out if i should apply to more schools or not, so your candid opinion about my chances at getting in would be much appreciated.

Are you in-state? And what major(s) are you applying for?

P.S. I would apply to more schools, just as a safety. A school like Texas Tech would be a good choice, as you’d get in there and you’d just fill out a Texas Common App. for that school as you did for TAMU.

you are very close to automatic admit level. I think you are most likely going to be admitted. going to a camp is a great way to show interest, if you are close to one of the satellite admission centers, I would make an appointment - they can put a word in for you.
What is your first choice major? I am assuming you are in-state - ?
Were you an officer in any clubs? A*M likes to see leadership.
I would also suggest a 2nd college as a fall back (my suggestion wouldn’t be tech though :\ … I suggest a school in the A&M system - or think about Blinn if you seriously want to be an aggie, the easiest way to transfer is from Blinn or A&M Corpus

Do we need recommendations?

i think you will get in.

when did you apply.

it took about 6 weeks for my DD to be accepted with similar stats. but … the longer you wait your chances go down.

i don’t think showing more interest at this point will make anything happen faster.

my DD idd end up submitting recs, but not until some time later. i don’t think they made a difference.

ok i’ll try to answer all these questions at once:
-in state? yes
-major? engineering/gen studies
(i figured that i could get in and transfer into engineering if i don’t make it initially
-when did i apply? dec 2nd
-did i go to a camp? yes i went to S.E.A.L (seniors experiencing aggie life) exactly 100 people get in and i had to apply within 15 mins of it opening because it fills up so quickly.
-fall back? i was thinking a&m galveston because it’s apparently considered as the same university as A&m college station but just in a different location, so it’s an easy transfer. (they have a late due date for the application so i figured i’d just wait to hear from a&m).
