Letters:
I have a good letter of rec. from my Biology and Sci. Research teacher, a pretty great one from my AP English teacher and an absolutely amazing one from my High School’s principal.

Schools I am applying to:

American University (applied Early Decision)
Brandeis University
Beloit College
Hofstra University
Boston University
University of Richmond
Tulane University (Dad’s an alum)
University of Vermont
Allegheny College

So, what are my chances?

bumpity bump

I personally belive that American is within your range.

What about the other schools?

I don’t know enough about schools, but I’d say in at Tulane partially because they seem to be recruiting an insane amount after Katrina (me at least) they’ve sent me over 30 emails, and I’m not anywhere near Ivy/top teir level.

Also, your description of working at the gap sounded like one of those typical overplayed jobs on a resume, I, personally wouldn’t write so formally on my app, but then again I know very little about getting into schools and personally a very relaxed informal person all around.

I’m not sure about Brandeis… your class rank and GPA are a bit too low for it, so I’d say it’d be a bit of a reach. (Most of the applicants have 3.75+ GPA’s and are in the top 10 percent of the graduating class.)

Anyone else out there?

Colleges have different systems of weighting your GPA, so a 3.19 at your school might be a 3.6 when colleges re calculate it. I say write good essays and hope for the best.

Well that resume isn’t actually part of my app, it’s actually taken from my AFROTC application and I just wanted it to look professional.

Thanks to everyone, too.

Yea the guy who was talking about massive recruiting for Tulane is right. Ive gotten dozens of letters and emails from them. It is actually kind of annoying because all the headings are like, “robert, fill out your application before time runs out!” or something stupid like that. I get at least 2 emails from them a weeks and have gotten 3 apps and 9 brochures thru the mail. Mind you I have never once contacted this school or inquired for more information. Also the no application fee is part of the recruiting whole thing, which is good because it’ll save you $60. The education quality there is actually pretty good, but the location???

Bump …Anymore?
