I am kinda counting on BU as a safety/match for acceptance, but was wondering if I also had a chance for the honors college/Trustee’s/President’s scholarships. My basic states…
4.0 UW
All honors thru sophmore year
1 AP-World- 5
Currently taking 3 AP’s and 2 honors in junior year while maintaining a 96.5 average
Plan on taking 4 AP’s and 2 honors next year.
Varsity basketball, member of 2 clubs, NHS, volunteer through clubs 100+ hrs, and summer job. (also hoping for internship this summer)

Any help/advice would be greatly appreaciated! Thank you so much!

And I had a 2150 on the SAT in one sitting (realistically could only get up to a 2180)

No Trustee Scholarship with those stats and EC’s. Not even a true safety school, a low match perhaps.

^Oh, come on. Really?

SadieLane12, I wouldn’t have any idea how you rank for a Trustee Scholarship. I do know that scholarships of that level are very hard to get at all universities, that they aren’t always based solely on stats, and that very few are given and only to very exceptional candidates. Chances are slim.

I’m new to the BU forum and just learning about the school myself. But, based on what I already know about it? ^A low match? Ridiculous. You’re certainly in the ballpark for acceptance, SadieLane12. Keep up the good work!

Yes really! In CC parlance a low match means that there is a very strong likelihood of being accepted but that the school is not a safety. If BU suspects that you are using them as a safety, an applicant is likely to be waitlisted. Past years’ threads contain postings from similarly statted applicants who were waitlisted.

^Oh. Okay. I’ve been using CC for 4+ years and lurking for some time before that, and yet I wasn’t aware that CC parlance defined “low match” as a match that is not a safety. In the parlance that I’m familiar with Safeties and Matches (low or otherwise) are two different categories. This OP is clearly a Match so far, imo, though I’d agree that a school like BU should probably not be used as a Safety. You need a REAL safety, OP. A school that is a sure bet for admissions AND a sure bet for your finances. Best of luck to you!

Thank you for all your input!

the trustee scholarship also has an essay
