<p>I’m an 8th grader from an Arkansas public school. I’m applying to Andover and Exeter, as well as Cates and Stevenson as back-ups. I’m pretty bright, and do well in school, receiving mostly A’s perhaps with a rare B. I play soccer and lacrosse, and am captain of my team in both sports. I play guitar and piano rather well, both which I taught myself. I am passionate about English and writing, and read often. I’m not as good at science, but work hard to compensate. I have a very dominative, extroverted personality and love talking to anyone. I volunteer regularly to help foreign exchange students with their English and studies, and also tutor two sixth grade girls. I’m very open to trying new things. I’m passionate about learning, as well as extra curriculars. I would be involved in school clubs/activities if my school offered them. I’m also applying for financial aid. chance me?</p>

<p>You’re from Arkansas-an under represented state, which should help your chances a little.The occasional B might hurt your chances a little, but if your overall final grades average out to an A then you might make that up. Also, really good teacher recs could also compensate for any dips you’ve had in your transcripts. Really play up the sports aspect-captain of both teams is good! Make sure that you stress that you have been really working on the quality of your sports, because that should make up for the lower amount of EC’s.In an interview, make sure that you really bring out your personality and sell yourself as someone who really stands out of the crowd. Try getting in touch with the coaches at these schools too. Exeter and Andover might be a bit of a reach, but if you really do well on the SSATs and interviews they might be in your ballpark. Your volunteering stuff is good, make sure you mention that a lot to. Exeter especially, and on your tour request to visit the ESSO. (exeter social service) FA puts you in an even more competitive pool, so make sure you stress why YOU should be chosen for these schools.
In the ends, its really the admissions that decide, but I think you’ve got a fair chance.
