Chance me for Andover, exeter, milton, cate

I am a korean student who is currently a freshmen (9th grade) living in africa because my dad is an expatriate
i want to transfer to those schools, so i am just curious
So here it is:

  • GPA: 4.0 (All As througout middle school except 1 B in PE 7th grade)
  • SSAT: Haven’t taken it. I live in DRC and they don’t have it there, but probably 96~99percentile
  • PSAT: 190 (I took it this year. quite low, but is 89% to my surprise including juniors)
  • EC’s: MUN in 9th grade, swim team in 9th grade, peer tutoring 8~9th grade (there aren’t much that the school offers, since there is only 175 students in middle&high school total)
take piano lessons, and that’s pretty much it.
  • class rank: 1/27
  • Awards: Presidential award in 8th grade, high honor rolls all throughout middle school except 1 quarter in 7th grade due to PE, Valedictorian award, took every subject’s award except English throughout the whole entire middle school
  • However, I have a US citizenship

SOOOO, chance me please!!

Unfortunately, you have missed the deadline for applying to all these schools. Acceptance letters have just been sent, and those who were not accepted but are strong candidates fill the waitlists. So, although you seem a worthy candidate, your chances are probably rather low.

Are you applying to 10th for the fall of 2010?

^ yes I am
I am planning on transferring at 10th grade

oh, nemom, yeah, ^ this is what i am planning to do. not this year, sorry for the confusion

Well then I think you have an excellent chance  Although, I can’t guarantee anything because the future isn’t predictable nor set

I really would apply to more schools than Milton, Andover, and Exeter (EAM will be reaches). Even if Cate is a safety for you, which it is not (it will be a match) you will not have many options.

How about adding a few more, non super top, schools to your list?

I am not saying you have low chances at the three mentioned schools, just that they are very selective (ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE WITH KOREAN PPORTS) and you cannot bank on them…

Best of luck!

Impressive academics!
I think you have a high chance, but you are lacking in the area of athletics and the arts. That may be the one thing holding you back. I agree withe principalviola, maybe add one or two schools that aren’t topnotch?
I recently got into Milton, but I didn’t have a very high SSAT score (85% average) … but you never really know! They want to see you as a WHOLE. That’s why they take everything else into consideration as well!

Good luck to you! (:
