Hi, please chance me for Andover, Choate, Cate, Exeter, and Lawrenceville
I am a current 8th grader applying to 9th Grade. I’m Korean, and I go to an international school here in Korea

GPA: All As, I would say close to all A+s for the whole middle school, perfect 4.0 gpa
Test scores: SSAT 87 overall (I know its a bit weak for those schools), 106 TOEFL
EC: Played violin for 10 years, national level, won an award in more than 15 national concours, included multiple videos of my playing in the application (concertmaster of current school orchestra, 5th seat in international orchestra)
I also got chosen in an international concours and invited to play at Carnegie this summer
Model United Nations: experienced, been to about 7 conferences, one best delegate award
Vice president of National junior honor society, member of student council for 3 years
20+ service hours a year, hosted a charity marathon and donated $2000 to children in Laos
Varsity HS tennis player (about 5 years of experience, made it to the high school team and won 1st), varsity MS tennis co-captain, junior varsity basketball player (3rd place in tournament)
Participated in National history day, technology student association finals
Won school math olympiad in grade 6, 7, and 8

Others: My essays are not exceptional but good
Interviews were good, especially Andover and Cate
Enthusiastic, passionate, and very bright
rec letters idk but I think good for math, personal, special interest
not sure about english my teacher doesn’t really like me
didn’t apply for FAs

Read every Chance Me thread on here and you will read the same thing.

You are an exceptional candidate but most kids applying to these schools are. It is a reach for anyone (even more so for international applicants) and if boarding school is your end goal, you should cast a wide net.

Looking through these chance me threads scare me… you are an amazing applicant! However, getting into bs (especially as an international student) is hard. By now, I would think you have already submitted your application, so I don’t think the advice I (or anyone else for that matter) give can be use to positively alter your app. Relax while waiting for M10! We have less than 3 weeks to go :grimacing:
