  • Student Leader at a camp revolving around college management for underprivileged Hispanics
  • Managed a shop at my local church for 4+ years
  • Campaigned for U.S Representative Kendra Horn (paid job)
  • Campaigned for a politician running for governor in my state (volunteer)
  • Campaigned for a few other politicians in my local area (volunteer)

Essays were all decent, Major: Computer Engineering (I explain my involvement in politics being correlated to CE in my essays)

Hi! I think you have a really good chance!! Your EC’s look amazing and you are in good academic standing. Of course I haven’t read your essays but if they are good then I’d say you have a great chance! I recommend putting the essays in the collegevine peer editing tool to get feedback if you want to know how they might be perceived by a stranger. A lot of admissions also depends on money. Will you be needing financial aid?

Yes, I will be needing financial aid. Does that mean I have a lower chance of getting in?

No not at all! Most students require aid but at the end of the day. It probably won’t make a difference if one student is paying the full tuition upfront and another takes out a loan. Either way, they get the money :slight_smile: I would look into this further though because I’m not an expert.

I’d say as an URM male, with these stats, you have a decent chance of being accepted. I’m hoping that BU will give you enough money to make it possible. What are your safety schools?

I think that your chances for admissions are quite good. This year is a bit hard to predict since there are some students who deferred last year due to the pandemic, but I still think that admissions is likely.

Affordability is another issue which I cannot predict.

Hopefully you also have an affordable safety.

I already have a backup with enough money so that isn’t a problem. It would be amazing if I got into BU though, that school seems perfect for me! But at the end of the day it’s not the end of the world. Also the BU net price calculator gives me a doable price, if it’s correct I can definitely attend .

It is not safe, but I believe more people that look like you get accepted than not accepted. Hope so!
