Chance me for Bryn Mawr and Lehigh RD and Villanova ED2 [89 GPA, 1410 SAT, political science prelaw]

Congrats. Is it affordable ?

For all three, go visit, stop kids, ask lots of questions, walk the surrounds etc.

Congratulations :rainbow::collision:

All 3 of these schools offer some fairly unique academic programs, which provide interesting preparation for law school. I suggest that you look closely at each and see if there’s something on the menu which appeals to your unique interests and values. All other things being equal, F&M offers the best financial deal, which allows you to put some money aside for law school. (I’ll note that the difference between Lafayette and F&M is smaller that the scholarship difference because Lafayette is cheaper to begin with. Both are substantially less than Bryn Mawr.)

WOW - congrats! Your top choice!! Are you headed there?

I need to negotiate for aid. If they give me some aid i can go

NYU is one of the most expensive colleges in the country. They’ll need to give you a lot of aid, which colleges don’t often do with students accepted off the wait list.

Did you run NYU’s NPC prior to applying? If so, is the financial aid package close to the NPC estimates?

On what basis would you ‘negotiate’ financial aid? Have there been changes to your financial situation?

NYU meets full need for all admitted first year students, including those admitted from the waitlist. The NYU Promise

Hopefully OP ran the NPC prior to applying and NYU’s actual offer is close to that.

I’m glad to hear that NYU does that.

Same. There is some anecdotal evidence that NYU isn’t as generous as some other meet full need schools, but still a good development. And NYU finally started using the collegeboard NPC front end, so its NPC estimates also tend to be more accurate than before the new policies.

One reason (arguable the main reason) NYU is one of the less generous meets full need schools because the count the full amount of parents’ home equity as an asset available to pay for college.

The most generous meets-need schools totally exclude home equity from consideration.

Most CSS profile schools cap the amount of home equity they consider at 1-2 times parent income.

For schools that consider home equity, they typically assume that 3-5 percent of the equity is accessible for college expenses.

So…just to give a hypothetical example…if you have $300k in home equity…NYU would reduce your need by $9-15k based on that asset. They aren’t the only school that does this…but it definitely makes need based aid less generous if your parents own a home.

Congrats on FSU. It’s so different than your original desires - BM, Nova, etc. and certainly very different than F&M.

Great school - just curious as to the rationale for pivoting there. Cost or something else ?

Good luck.
