Chance me for BU RISE, SSRP, SSP, and similar programs [US citizen outside the US, 3.985 GPA in IB DP, 1600 SAT]

SAT: 1600

GPA: 3.985/4.0 UW

Courses: Full IB DP: AA HL Math, HL Bio, HL Chem, SL Global Politics, SL Spanish B, SL English LL (All 7s/4.0 since the first semester of 9th grade as I got a 3.925 that semester). This is the hardest course load I can take pretty much.

Demographics: U.S. citizen abroad in GCC (Middle East), so I don’t really have many opportunities for STEM competitions/opportunities except for the summer

Previous research: in the summer of 10th grade I did 6 weeks of research (35h weekly 210h total) and I earned 6 college credits in total as well. I designed and presented my poster too and the topic was food science / biochemistry.

Recommendations: Maybe one from my 10th grade science teacher (glazes me in her top and favorite student) and 11th grade AA HL math teacher (topped the class which has AIME qualifiers and similar, and he sees me as very curious and engaged). My research PI said I’m very responsible and stuff as well

Essays: They’ll be polished, compelling, and unique Awards: for awards I don’t have anything national as I’m not a citizen of my country so I can’t participate legally. School wide I won highest science achievement 2x highest math achievement and effort highest English achievement highest history achievement and some other awards

I don’t need financial aid or anything but idk if that matters.

I also come from a pretty rare area I’d say; I don’t think many apply from my country (Saudi). I keep getting bombed as well lol.

Anyways thanks for reading and what are my chances at SSP, BU RISE, SSRP, RSI, RMP and similar programs? Do I have potential?

I would apply to the MITES Summer Program offered by MIT if interested in obtaining a STEM enrichment experience.

I think there are multiple for pay programs you can get into and other intro to engineering (so not research) like Purdue STEP or Rose Hulman Operation Catapult and many more.

There are various STEM like programs - that are pay to play - you just need to do some google searches.

Some will be competitive and others literally pay to play - so cast the net wide.

Here’s a list from a few years ago - a lot more names - you might research.

Good luck.

PS

I just googled my state schools and came up with this. There are 50 states - so you can see who has and who doesn’t require you to be in state.

  • Young Scholars Program (YSP): Hosted by CURENT at UTK, this program gives rising high school juniors and seniors (and a limited number of rising sophomores) a 4-week opportunity to perform hands-on research alongside CURENT faculty and graduate students. [1]
  • Tennessee Junior Science & Humanities Symposium (TJSHS): A forum for high school students to present original scientific research and compete for scholarships, accompanied by workshops and lab tours. [1]
