I think you have a great chance. I think local candidates might be viewed more favorably too. And your chance will be greater if you were female :wink:

@SincererLove Unfortunately I am a male, but are you sure I have a great chance? I mean, only 4% of applicants get admitted to SCS

Try to leverage that internship you had with SCS into a rec. letter.

I know of a local candidate who was in PGSS and then admitted to CS at CMU. He is also Asian male. I think the odds are better for you than the 249 other candidates, especially the other 100 Asian Males. But be flexible and have backup plans for both CMU(different major) and other schools.
