<p>Hi guys, I am a prospective international student from Kenya. I am applying ED1 at Colby College. What do you think my chances of getting admitted are?</p>

<p>High School GPA: 3.7(I come from a very competitive high school)
SAT I: 2070(690R 700M 680W)</p>

<p>EC’s:
-Team Handball(4 years): Awarded sporting colours, Captain of the House Handball Team(2011-2012)
-St. John’s Ambulance Cadet(4 years): Certificate of Competence in First Aid
-Founder and Project Coordinator of a local Christian Youth group(2 years)
-Member of the Red Cross Society(4 years)
-Member of the Security Squad(a club concerned with ensuring security in high school): Squad Charlie(2011-2012)
-Member of the Survival Club(an outdoors club in high school)
-Member of the KiSwahili Society
-Member of our church’s rock band(lead guitarist)
-I have directed a number of plays in church</p>

<p>Voluntary Service:
-I volunteer at a local hospital during weekends
-I teach at the Sunday School in church
-I coach Team Handball at a local school</p>

<p>Essays: Great according to the people who have read them
Recommendations: Not so sure but one is from my Business Studies teacher who is a great friend</p>

<p>I am also applying RD to the following colleges:
-Colgate University
-Hamilton College
-Grinnell College</p>

<p>P.S I am applying for financial aid</p>

<p>You have a reasonable chance, but then again, considering that you’re applying for finaid, you’ll never know. </p>

<p>Try to work on how Colby really fits you as a student and how you can show that to adcoms to put you a leg up on other international students with similar credentials.</p>
