have i completely screwed up?

I'd suggest retaking your SATs and possibly thinking about tier 2/3 schools instead of settling for CC.

Joining track would be beneficial.
I think you can incorporate the fact that you dance into a college essay.

You can get into a decent Uni. if raise your expectations (sorry, that sounded harsh).

Good luck!

Yes, you can get into many good schools, not just CC's. There are so many out there.

I actually had a question of my own;

I'm an Asian female. I'm an average student, SAT score was a 1700 (1080 CR+M). My GPA is probably somewhere around a (I'm not sure, transcripts weren't available for juniors) 2.9-3.0 (3.1-3.2 weighted). I do a lot of volunteering and I am active in two clubs at school. I also have two internships and a part-time job in the upcoming school year (my senior year). I've also worked in my junior year and recommendation letters shouldn't be a problem for me.

With that said, what do you guys think of my chances of getting into Ohio University?

Senior206....I think that you have good potential, try to really study hard a last semester if you are not applying early decison/action, colleges would have some idea of how you will do during your school year. EC's are on point, i highly suggest you look at colleges within the range of your SAT score because they would definitely look at your application. Nice AP classes, that really helps...the fact that you dance is great, you can definitely try to incorporate it on your essay like nzhang24 had said before.

Which colleges are you looking out?

And your GPA is really low but it's senior year so I'm assuming it's too late to fix that. That said, you shouldn't be looking at ivies or top tier schools because it's a waste of your money. But if you get your SAT's above an 1850 there's plenty of other schools for you :D

You sound like an average person at my high school :)

There are a TON of colleges in-state that you have probably never heard of that accept students with GPA/SAT scores in the range that yours will fall. That being said, I'd say your best bet is going to and creating a profile, and then finding colleges that "match me". Its a really neat search tool that you can enter all your specs into, and hopefully it will give you a list of maybe 10-15 schools that match most (if not all) of your criteria.

Its certaintly unrealistic to think that your SAT score will improve a few hundred points the second time you take it, so just try and improve from your last scores. Any improvement is welcome :) And no, you haven't completely screwed up. While your gpa is a bit low, you are more than a number. After you retake your SAT and narrow down your search to 4-5 colleges, then your decision will be much easier!
