<p>With your interest in self defense, have you considered West Point or the Naval Academy? They also would like your interest in science and engineering.</p>

<p>I don’t take it til next year! On the PLAN test (offered through my high school, similar to ACT) my score said that I would most likely score 28-32 on the ACT if I didn’t learn anything else. I took the PSAT and I got a projected SAT score of 590 to 680 on critical reading, 490 to 600 in math, and 540 to 660 writing skills. Hope this helps</p>

<p>Self Defense was purely for a PE credit, I’m not really interested in a military/naval academy. Thanks for the suggestion though!</p>

<p>Okay, I hear you. Regarding the schools you asked about, all of them are reaches for everybody. Notre Dame might be easier than the others (but not easy) while Chicago probably is the hardest. All are very difficult to get into even for the best students.</p>

<p>Reaches based on projecting your PSAT score. Less than 600 math is an issue, less than 700 on everything is an issue as well.
Interesting your math background is not strong, but you are looking at engineering. I would suggest looking into some tech schools if you are thinking about engineering, or invest in a math tutor.</p>

<p>Notre Dame might be easier than the rest, but it’s still at least a low reach. </p>

<p>Brown, columbia and Uchicago reject even the most qualified applicant so even if you are really good you might not get accepted. Just write and essay that stands out.
