I just wanted to know my chances for Cornell, Berkeley, McGill, Northwestern, UChicago, UCLA, GA Tech, CWRU and UVA.
Stats:
GPA(Weighted): 4.7 (Weighted on an unsual scale, with a 4.5 being an A+ for a non-honors or AP class, and 1.0 is added for an honors or AP class)
SAT: 2150 (CR: 680, M: 750, W: 720 11 Essay)
SAT II: U.S. History: 760, Chemistry: 750, Math 2: 720 (Don’t know if i should report it)
AP: Stat and Comp Sci were 5s, and Euro, USH, Chemistry, Physics 1 were 4s
Senior Year Courseload: AP Physics C, AP Calc BC, AP Macro/Micro, AP US Gov, AP Lit
Extracurriculars:
Cross Country Captain- All-Conference 10th, 11th Grade
Varsity Winter Track
Varsity Spring Track- All-Division 11th Grade
Quizbowl Club Treasurer
Key Club Member
Volunteer at local hospital ~100 hours
Taught kids with special needs how to ride a bike
U13-U19 Soccer Referee
Lifeguard at pool over summer
Though your scores are not particularly stellar, they have some weight to get your foot in the door at most of the schools mentioned and your extra curriculars help some more. Spend some good time on the essays and I’d say you have a good chance at any of these universities though the more selective schools like UChicago or Cornell are definitely more of a reach.
Where are you from by the way? I assume California considering your mention of UCLA and Berkeley. If so, it might be worth it to do some more research on other UCs as they can be great safeties with their well supported academic programs and lower costs for locals. Just a thought.
If you want to further your chances, it could also be worth it to study and take another shot at the SAT if you’ve only taken it once and shoot for cabinet/president positions in the clubs that you are involved with.
