what subject for the UK unis?

@collegemom3717‌

LSE: BSc Mathematics and Economics (evenly split)
Cambridge: Economics
Oxford: Economics and Management
Warwick: Economics
UCL: Economics and Statistics
Bristol: Economics and Econometrics

LSE will want your Calc BC score. Your stats are good for an interview at Cambridge OR Oxford (you can’t appply to both in the same year), but for Oxford your TSA score will be key. Warwick & UCL look good, Bristol looks safe (all strictly imo).

@collegemom3717‌
Thank you! Regarding the TSA, will I have to take this independently before applying or is it a test I take if I am offered an offer at the University?

Also, do you know if the UK universities look at transcript grades or is admission based mainly on AP and SAT scores?

Here’s a tip: don’t destroy your essays until after you have submitted them to college.

OK, I can’t really chance you since I’m not familiar with admissions for internationals, but you certainly seem like a competitive applicant. If your school consistently sends 15-20 people to the Ivy League each year, I would expect you to be one of them. Out of curiosity, though, what does “Decision Analysis” entail?

You are a perfect applicant, none of the schools you have posted are reaches for you. The fact that you don’t need financial aid also boosts your chances of being accepted by the universities you apply to.

@DiscipulusBonus‌

I’m not too sure about the specifics, but the broad description is that we learn to use game theory to apply and analyze hypothetical, historical, and modern situations.

The TSA is on 5 November this year, and you have to be registered by 15 October. I’m pretty sure that it’s offered at the British Council (or equivalent) in Singapore, but check a good bit in advance. If not, your school can register to be a test site, but it’s a bit of a pain and some schools are stroppy about doing it. If your school is that competitive though, I would be surprised if it hasn’t done this before. The TSA score is a big part of short listing for interview.

Forgot to say that, depending on which college you apply to (or get pooled to) at Cambridge you may also have to do a test (list is here: <a href=“Study at Cambridge | University of Cambridge”>Study at Cambridge | University of Cambridge).

Don’t get too giddy about monkeyboy123s declaration that none of your schools are reaches. Stanford definitely is (b/c it is for everybody these days, and I don’t see a patent or a recruiting varsity sport in your ECs!). Your academic stats are good but (at least as I read the list) your ECs are fine, but unexceptional.

Also, although I don’t think you need it, UCLA doesn’t do ‘legacy’.

@collegemom3717‌

yes, of course not (in fact, I’m pretty sure it was a sarcastic post). I fully realize all of the schools above are reaches for anybody, but just wanted to start a ‘chance thread’ as a rite of passage for the rising senior :slight_smile: thanks so much though!
