ACT may be a little low, but you have great grades and have taken hard classes. Are you applying ED?
I doubt I will apply ED the money is a big issue for Emory
It still looks like you have a decent shot, I’d just put a lot of effort into senior year and making your application great. Good luck?
Alright thanks for your input
Get the ACT score up and you should be good to go, but with your income and your rising GPA I would look at other small southern colleges that you can ED at. Have you considered doing ED at Duke? I believe you would be guaranteed a full tuition scholarship at Duke, and they are sort of similar schools but Duke is more prestigious.
“I doubt I will apply ED the money is a big issue for Emory”
If Emory is your number one favorite, why not apply ED? They meet full need.
Well I thought my ACT would be a little too low for Duke but thanks I may look into it. Well ED being binding is a little worrying because if the Financial aid isn’t what I need I’m kinda stuck right?
ED is binding unless the financial aid offer is insufficient to support attendance, and it’s your decision, even if the school (in their opinion) meets full need. If you accept the offer (or successfully negotiate a better one) you’ll never know if you might have received a better offer from another school.
@vonlost thanks for informing me of that. It is quite possible that I will apply ED then. I will do some more research about the strength of their pre-med (I’m sure it’s great) and contemplate applying it’s also helps I have another great in-state school (UNC) that has a great reputation and I can applu early action too as well. Thank you again
