Cost constraints?

Getting into engineering at Texas A&M is highly competitive. But four other less selective Texas public universities have biomedical engineering.

Unlikely

But lots of places to study biomedical if you don’t get in. Good luck.

Your strengths don’t seem to be in Engineering and your EC’s and activities aren’t really Engineering focused. That’s going to be the main issue. Your stats alone are decent but your background just doesn’t come across as someone who wants to do Engineering. That would be my main concern at A&M but also something you should really think about, why do you want to go that path?

I’ll disagree @KaiserSoze17. One doesn’t need ECs to match a major.

OP does debate and has been a member of a charity but should be more descriptive.

Should there be maybe more - a summer job, are they in the orchestra (they take the class, etc.) but one doesn’t need ECs to say “engineer”. Sports, band, clubs, summer or part time job…all great.

I didn’t see the other schools -

Yes to UTD,

No to TAMU and UT - assuming that’s Texas.

UMN a strong possibility

UF - you have to figure out your UF GPA - add +.5 for Honors and +1 for AP. If that’s the 4.3 you show (if it’s calculated that way), it’s a reach but not impossible.

If you have interest in Nuclear Engineering, UTK would be a fit although not assured - but likely. Missouri Science and Tech would be a safety.

For biomedical, take a look at Arizona/ASU, Arkansas, Houston, and Pitt - as possible options. UAB as well.

I do think UTD is highly likely and UMN (great school) very possible.

Good luck.

Need? No. EC’s or activities towards your major though help in admissions and do indicate that you understand what it is about and make it more likely you will succeed. Engineering is especially that way for strong Engineering schools, they want to see more than just grades they want to see relevance to STEM. You can still absolutely get into a good engineering program and major in it at a school, there are lots of options out there.

The reason I asked the question was also in part to understand if they were majoring in Engineering because they thought it is a good major that pays well but if it isn’t what you really have a passion for it may not be the best choice. EC’s are a good determiner of that for many students. If you want to be an engineer is there a reason you haven’t been involved in engineering related activities? Lots of other ways to make a good living if not. If you want to explore it or you have a real passion that’s great too.
