Welcome!

I cannot chance anyone, but you sound like a very accomplished applicant.

What I would strongly urge you to do, if going to boarding school is important, is to find other schools you would be excited to attend, with higher admit rates. If you get into Exeter, and it’s your first choice, fantastic! But if, like most applicants you *don’t * get in, you might appreciate some other options.

Good luck!

Have you taken a practice AMC?

Yea i have and got a 21/25 on amc 10 and 23/25 on the amc 8

thank you, i have seen you in other forums and from what i have seen you are someone with great experience and you know your stuff so do you think you could possibly help me along the way to potentially increase my chances

If I could increase someone’s chances to get into elite boarding schools, I would be a very rich woman indeed! Which is a way of saying there’s no formula, or definite route to admission. Do your best, and take my advice above!! and things will work out.

thank you

“carried my team” does not read well, at least to me, as it seems like a contradiction.

You are very well qualified, but your SSAT will be an important part of your application.

Well rounded individual who should add a lot to any boarding school community.

I wish you good luck !

so i meant carry as in like led my mean as i was appointed as a leader in all these competitions from all the teams i was in sorry

Any other tips from exonians or alumni of exeter or possibly even someone who was accepted into phillips exeter

I would appreciate if you could just give me some tips for what/what not should i do and if you could tell me what should I fix/ add to my application to make it stronger because Exeter has been my dream school since 2nd grade.

Hi!
I’m also a rising 8th grader applying to Lville this year and I gotta say, your stats are seriously impressive! You’re juggling so much and still crushing it with academics, sports, and leadership. Honestly, goals.
I would say you’re definitely a very qualified applicant, especially with your charity/volunteering work and awards. My advice would be to definitely start studying for the ssat (if you haven’t already) and when applications and interviews start in September, put a lot of time into your essay and start preparing for your interview.
But other than that, you definitely have an amazing shot at getting in, good luck!

Hey! I’m definitely not one to chance, but I was accepted into Andover, and your stats look awesome! One thing I noticed that many other students in competitive areas (like NYC, new england; for reference I’m from an underrepresented state), many students had a prominent dedication to community service, something I lacked in my application. I saw that you volunteered at the local library, maybe consider emphasizing why this is important to you in some way. What links all of these activities together? What drives you to help out kids in need? Take my advice with a grain of salt for sure though! Any reason why Exeter? Like others mentioned consider widening your search if you know boarding school is your place. I know it’s nerve wracking to apply, but know that you’re super qualified! Good luck!

Thank you so much for all of yall’s responses. The reason I am wanting to choose Exeter is because I have had a passion for attending VERY VERY long time and I know lots of people who have attended or currently attend Exeter . Also for the reason that it aligns it aligns with what I really want to do later on (STEM). They also have excellent academic opportunities that my school doesn’t really offer to me
but a strength I think I have is I am from a semi-underrepresented area (Dallas).

This is lowk random, but if you have time, would you mind checking out my thread too and maybe chancing me for lville? Totally no worries if not! Good luck either way
