<p>The combination of a very unimpressive GPA/test scores plus your out-of-state status is really going to hurt your chances. OOS students need to excel in pretty much every facet of the applications process. I’d conservatively put your odds at around 5% or so.</p>
<p>Your SAT scores are not too bad, in fact they are around those of freshmen who end up enrolling, but your GPA is rather low and would be low even for someone in state. It will really bring down your chances. You might consider taking community college courses before you apply (summer school maybe) to get it up, but it may not make enough of a difference at this point…</p>
<p>Don’t worry about rank or teacher recommendations when applying to public schools in California. They will not be considered in the regular application process.</p>
