Northeastern is a private university. In state or OOS is irrelevant.

I agree. You have a decent at NEU.

USC: low reach
GA Tech: low reach
NEU: high match
UMD: match

Good luck! Chance me back please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1561842-chance-me-duke-ed-will-chance-back-within-24-hours.html#post16449634

For GATech, I would like to know all your subscores tooooo. Including Eng/Writing

On my ACT I got a 30 comp, 31 math, 26 reading (might retake because of that), 33 reading, 28 science, and 8 writing. Also, I live in Arizona if that matters.

So GATech throws out your Comp and Science.

Then Recalculates your Math, Eng and Eng/Writing score into SAT scores.

I think you should be in the 2070-2150 range?

Interesting. I’m not sure how you went about converting the ACT to SAT, but if that’s right then I should be on par, right? I’ve never heard of a college converting scores before.

Oh they do… They just dont say it clearly like GATech.

You can search for the tables on google or the CC site.

I just realized that you said 26 reading and 33 reading… if it’s 26 english then your converted score just dropped.

I converted it to about 1940. Is that bad? Should I take the ACT again?

I’m not saying it’s bad but you can always try to bump it up. But you’d lose EA for GATech and the others if you’re reconsidering eveything.

USC is a high reach, especially with that 30 ACT

Can your parents pay full freight for you? Because none of the public universities on your list meet need for OOS students.
Northeastern is the only one that will (and you’ve got a decent shot).
If your parents can pay $40,000+ for UMD-CP, it’s a match.

But you have to realize that some of those schools have amazing Co Ops.

UMD and GATech both are amazing in Co Ops and Internships

No, my parents can’t pay the full way for me. I will be relying on an arotc scholarship which is full ride, plus books, fees, and a monthly stipend. I just need to worry about room and board for college.
