Okay, I really really want to attend Grinnell College, and have done ED2. Please predict my chances.

Gender: Female
Nationaity: Bangladeshi
But I am studying in a boarding school in Hong Kong since 2010. I study in a UWC (United World College), and that should enhance my application, since Grinnell loves UWC students.

Current grades: I’m doing IB. So my predicted grades are:
English A1: 6/7
French: 6/7
Maths SL: 7
Physics HL: 6/7
Chemistry HL: 7
Economics HL: 6/7
Total: 38/42
It is unweighed, and I kind of have the most challenging subjects at school. So my course-load is vigorous. We don’t have ranks in my school.

I have done GCSE O levels before. I got the highest marks in the WORLD in Human Biology, and highest number of A’s (11 A’s) in Bangladesh.

Extracurriculars:
I have PLENTY. But here are a few:
- Leader of Theatre Club of my school. I have also been selected to direct a play for Hong Kong School Drama Festival 2012.
- Leader of a community service group of my school. We work for an NGO and send goods to the needy in Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Somalia, etc.
- I have been elected as the science student representative of my school (by teachers and peers).
- Ran a campaign in Bangladesh in summer, where I ran workshops for 500 volunteers all across the country. We raised awareness for the environment; collected 200kg of wastes (by cleaning streets and lakes) and gave them to the city corporation.
- Play for my school’s soccer and basketball team.
- Official HK first aider
- Talented debater. Ranked 8th amonth 168 debaters in a national tournament in Bangladesh.
- Went to Cambodia for a week, for community service. I worked in a centre for girls rescued from sexual slavery.
- Taught English and Science (for a week as a volunteer) in a local school in China.
- Write articles for the national newspaper of Bangladesh
AND MANY MORE

Interview: Had an interview with the Dean of International Recruitment. It was AMAZING. I often ask him questions through e-mails, and get responses very fast.

Essays: I think they are really good.
Recommendations: I think they are really good too.

Problems:
I need substantial financial aid.
SAT scores:
I am bad at standardized testing. Mostly cause I live away from home, in a boarding school (so I am the only one to look after myself), have tons of school work, and extracurriculars. Hence I don’t get enough time to practise. My scores are not satisfactory at all.
Maths: 660
CR: 590
Wrting: 700

Subject test:
Physics: 700
Maths IIC: 690

So what are my chances?
